Miss World 2011, the 61st edition of the Miss World pageant is scheduled to take place at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre on November 6, 2011 in London, England where in the first Miss World event was created by Eric Morley in 1951 as part of his promotion of the Festival of Britain, which took place on the South Bank of the River Thames. This special event will feature winners from the past and the present, and they will be re-living some of the special moments and star names that have been a part of the 60 year history. The celebrations will take contestants across the United Kingdom in the run-up to the final.

Alexandria Mills from the United States is the current titleholder who was crowned Miss World 2010 on October 30, 2010 in Sanya, People’s Republic of China. Miss United States, was crowned Miss World 2010, ahead of Botswana's Emma Wareus and Venezuela's Adriana Vasini at the beauty pageant. She will crown her successor at the end of the event. Actually Miss World Alexandria Mills was the first woman from the United States who won the said title.. She describe herself as a “positive, spontaneous, open-minded and outgoing person” and says she has “never met a stranger and enjoys meeting new people.”
